Align Family Law British Columbia Victoria Kristy Montan

I am an articled student based out of Kimberley, BC and provide services to the Kootenay
region.

My practice covers all family related legal matters and my services range from providing legal advice and drafting agreements, to court- representation.

My approach to resolving family disputes involves finding creative solutions to sometimes complex issues. There are many options available to resolving family disputes, but it is important to find the correct solution that is tailored to each unique situation. These creative solutions involve collaboration and negotiation between the two parties in reaching settlement outside of court. It is through out of court settlement that both parties can avoid the time, stress, and expense of litigation.

Unfortunately, litigation is sometimes necessary when collaboration and negotiation efforts are unfruitful. During my articling period I gained experience in both British Columbia’s Supreme and Provincial Court. When litigation is a necessary step, I know how to fiercely advocate for my clients in the court room.

I prioritize reducing the stress and managing the complexity that my client’s often face when dealing with family related issues such as separation and parenting disputes. There’s nothing more rewarding than providing relief and clarity to my clients during, what can be, an overwhelming time in their lives.

I look forward to meeting you and creating a solution that is best suited to your unique situation.

I was born in the Fraser Valley and worked in Vancouver for 7 years as a legal assistant and
paralegal in civil litigation. I was undertaking a degree in legal studies at Capilano University
when I gained early admittance to law school at the University of Alberta. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Juris Doctor degree in 2023 and will be admitted to the British Columbia Bar, becoming an associate lawyer, in May 2024. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, pottery, travel, and exploring the Kootenay region.
